About

Greeting’s wanderer!

My name is Ron Fitzherbert, and I’d like to welcome you to my blog site.  To put my online life in perspective:  I’ve been using computers since the late ’70s; I have been online since the late ’80s; I have been on the Internet since the early ’90s.  I have finally decided to combine most of my electronic self into this one site where I can hopefully impart some wisdom and maybe a bit of humor to those of you who choose to read what I write.

You can view my LinkedIn, Kickstarter, Kiva, or Catchafire profiles for more information about me.

In late 2017, I announced my candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives for the New Mexico 2nd District seat in the 2018 election. Then in early 2018, my friend and the ultimate winner, Xochitl Torres Small, entered the race, and I decided to step aside and endorse her bid.

You can visit the website I founded and still run at PlayaFire.com – if you dig around a bit, you may find some more info about me.

Currently, in addition to my “day job,” I am a Co-Founder and the Chief Creative for Blue Gothic Design Studios, LLCand the principal for two small independent “think-tanks”; Think CSE and Pandisaster Consulting Services.

I volunteer for the American Red Cross, the Southern New Mexico Medical Reserve Corps, and Team Rubicon in my’ free’ time.  Currently, I am on the Board of The Foundation for Las Cruces Museums and the Governance Council for Alma d’arti Charter High School. Previously, I was the Board President of Safe Haven Animal Sanctuary and a member of the Mountain View Market and West End Arts Depot boards (both now defunct).

If you are into ancient history, you can always take a look back at some of what I was up to in 1996, thanks to the archives at the Internet Archive Wayback Machine!

Of course, if you want to get in touch, you can always just email me!
